BKKBN Urges Husbands And Wives To Have Different Choices When The Pilkada Is Asked To Put Ego Aside
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Population and Development of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) appealed to husbands and wives to rule out their respective egos when facing political differences, especially when making choices in today's Regional Head Election (Pilkada).
"The possibility of political differences so that there is tension, for example, husband nosing A, wife nosing B, this is if each is selfish, there will definitely be problems, but the point is not the real political issue, the point is how a married couple maintains their respective egos or not, right?" said Deputy for Advocacy, Mobilization and Information (Adpin) BKKBN Sukaryo Teguh Santoso quoting Antara.
According to him, in the household, it is important how to reduce tensions between each other to reduce conflicts.
"In the household, I think the important thing is how the other one has high tension, yes, don't be high, for example, if the husband has high blood pressure, yes, his wife has low blood pressure, and vice versa, so it's mutually soothing," he said.
However, Teguh added, the conflict in the household that led to divorce as stated by the Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar, where there were 500 couples who divorced due to political differences, certainly had other previous triggers.
"I think there were previous causes, yes, so this is a trigger, which in the end (there are frequent conflicts), of course we don't expect this, therefore, actually if it is in the BKKBN, the program for preparing a family life is from teenagers, getting married, including the bride and groom candidates being educated," he explained.
The education, said Teguh, is not limited to the health of production, but how to form a family through eight family functions, namely religion, affection, education, socio-cultural, reproductive health, environmental development, economy, and protection.

"So the eight functions of the family that need to be conveyed, are explained to prospective married couples, that the family has this function because it does form a family, it brings together two different people," he said.
He also stated the importance of conducting examinations on prospective wives in addition to education about the preparation of family life.
"The examination is important because the wife will give birth, will get pregnant, it needs to be in good health, both mother and child. So, health checks are important, especially in order to prevent stunting, there is hemoglobin that must be checked, health conditions must be checked, so that physically ready, both mentally, physically and economically," said Sukaryo Teguh Santoso.
