EMPC 2024 Ready To Find Talented Music Producers To Be Known To The World

JAKARTA - Electronic Producer Music Contest (EMPC) is ready to return to orbiting electronic music producer talents in Indonesia. Consistently held over the last five years, in the sixth year of EMPC 2024 will bring a new surprise.

The event made by ICEPERIENCE.ID is again collaborating with the Barong Family, a world-class music label from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Of course there is a strong reason for choosing the Barong Family to become a collaborator for the 2024 EMPC. Apart from having succeeded in collaborating in the 2020 edition of EMPC, the record label that houses the Yellow law duo has a close relationship and knows very well the characteristics and music culture in Indonesia.

ICEPERIENCE.ID representative Fabianus Arry Kurniawan said the 2024 EMPC still adheres to the vision and mission that was formed from the start, namely to find young talents who produce electronic music in Indonesia and show their skills to the international music scene.

"EMPC 2024 is an ICEPERIENCE.ID commitment to continue to find potential young talents that may still be buried. This year we collaborate with the international label Barong Family. This is one of the labels that many are expected to oversee young Indonesian producers because of their global track record and many are looked at by other world labels," said Arry in a press release received by VOI, November 26.

In EMPC 2024, the participants not only competed to show their talent and track quality, but they also received various education needed when building a career in the world's electronic music industry. Therefore, the role of the judges is very important. Apart from the Yellow Claw sent by the Barong Family, the EMPC judges line-up will also be filled by SIHK.

"In EMPC 2024, the curation process to the determination of the winner is entirely the authority of the judges, so that they are more objective in choosing the track that is subject to participants. The criteria are of course based on the originality, quality, creativity, and talents of young producers. The selection of these judges also represents these three things, coupled with demand for industrial market from electronic music in Indonesia," he added.

On the other hand, the Barong Family was enthusiastic about collaborating again at EMPC 2024 in finding the best electronic music producer from Indonesia. The record label belonging to the duo Nils Rondhuis & Jim Taihuttu, known as Yellow law, admits that electronic music producers from Indonesia have their own quality and character that are attractive to the international market.

"EMPC gives the Barong Family the freedom to develop something special for the 2024 EMPC champion. Together with the Barong Family, we will open up opportunities to release music and hope, we can provide direction and show how to build their careers as musicians at world level," said Yellow law.

He also appreciated the consistency and concepts that EMPC has carried from the start have had a significant impact on the development of electronic music scenarios in Indonesia. Yellow law hopes that many of these talents will appear in EMPC 2024 and make competition and the curation process more attractive.

We believe we will find cool works in EMPC 2024. We think all types of tracks have the potential to win as long as they are made properly and uniquely. In addition, works must have the same quality as international market standards. This will be a valuable asset for an electronic music producer," he added. Meanwhile, SIHK considered, being a EMPC judge is always a task full of interesting challenges.

The EMPC 2024 submission track has been open since November 11 and will be closed on January 31, 2025. The 2024 EMPC stage starts with registration, original work collection, work curation, divided into Top 10 and Top 3, as well as quarantine processes by following the Writing Camp, then closed with the Announcement of Winners.
