SAR Team Finds 12-Year-Old Boy Who Drowned In Cengkareng New River

The joint SAR team managed to find a boy named Febrian Manitur Sitamor (12) who drowned in Kali Baru, Pedongkelan, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta, in a state of death, Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

"The team saw the victim in a floating position. The hair of the head was seen dead," said Public Relations of the Jakarta SAR Office, Ramli Prasetio to VOI, Tuesday, November 26.

The discovery of the victim's body began when the joint SAR team carried out a search from the scene to the estuary of around 1.2 KM.

"The victim was found dead at a distance of 1.2 km from the location. The victim's body was taken to the funeral home," he said.

Meanwhile, the SAR operation was declared complete and proposed to be closed. Then all elements involved are returned to their respective units.

"The SAR operation went smoothly and safely," he said.

Previously, it was reported that a boy named Febrian Manitur Semamiror (12) was reported missing and drowned in Kali Baru, Pedongkelan, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta since Monday, November 25.

According to information gathered, the missing victim drowned on Monday at around 15.30 WIB. Previously, the victim and a number of his friends were playing on the outskirts of the New River.

The victim allegedly slipped and fell into the river and drowned. Meanwhile, the victim's friends reported the incident to the local RT management and the victim's family.
