Keira Knightley Refuses To Play Franchise, Disappointed To Continue To Be Lowered

JAKARTA - Keira Knightley revealed the reason she didn't want to work on a franchise film in Hollywood. Popular since she was a teenager, Knightley has felt publicity that has brought her career down.

He acted in the first Pirates of the Caribbean franchise with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom when he was 17 years old.

Success with his first film, Knightley has relentlessly acted in next Pirates such as Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, and At World's End.

Knightley also starred in Joe Wright's film Atonement and Pride and Prejudice which made his name through an Oscar nomination.

"It feels funny when you guys have something to make and hurt you at the same time," Knightley told The Times.

"I was seen as trash because of them and because they did well, I had the opportunity to do a film that got me an Oscar nomination," he continued.

"They are the most successful films I've ever been a part of and they're the reason I've been humiliated publicly, so the position is very confusing," Knightley said.

When asked if he would join the franchise film, Knightley said he might not choose the franchise project because of irregular working hours.

"The time he worked was crazy. Years in your life," said Knightley.

"You guys have no control over what you're making, how long you're making it, what you're making," he continued.

Keira Knightley last acted in the film Silent Night in 2021.
