Bayern Munich Targets The Top Eight Of The Champions League, Not Underestimating PSG's Bad Campaign
Bayern Munich will host Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on the fifth matchday of the 2024/2025 Champions League at the Allianz Arena, Wednesday, November 27, 2024, early morning WIB.
Die Bayern is targeting three points to keep hopes of breaking the top eight of the standings or a straight path to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Currently, Vincent Kompany's team is ranked 17th with a collection of six points from the results of two wins and two defeats.
Therefore, Kompany does not want to underestimate PSG, which has a minor campaign in the Champions League this season.
"We played against one of the big clubs in Europe. They have a lot of very good individual qualities and coaches."
"Both teams want to win. We play at home and this game is very important to us."
"(PSG) is a team with extraordinary talent. Interlinary space is never big, the pressure it puts is very aggressive and good."
"When they have the ball, they have a clear attacking approach. As a team, they are really very good," said Kompany on Monday, November 25, 2024, local time, as reported by ESPN.

Even though the German giants have lost two of their four Champions League games this season, they are unbeaten in the Bundesliga.
In fact, Die Bayern has not conceded a single goal in the last five consecutive league games.
However, Kompany emphasized that his troops must try to do better.
"There are many teams in the (League Champions) tournament that we have never seen. We often talk about finishing in the last eight (to qualify for the last 16). Our target is to finish in position one," said Kompany.
Bayern are not strengthened by Germany's 20-year-old defensive midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic, who suffered a broken spine in October 2024.
One person who is feeling fit and excited is striker Harry Kane, who has scored 50 Bundesliga goals since joining Tottenham Hotspur in August last year.
He only needed 43 games to get to that figure, faster than any player in league history.
Kane could be the key for Bayern Munich to realize the three-point target when they meet PSG.
"It's been a long time since I've felt as good as now. As an experienced player, you learn a lot about various phases in a game."
"Since I was at Bayern, my numbers have increased. I hope this continues and we can continue to improve our standards."
"Without the players around me, all the goals I scored would be impossible. They created space."
"We have a lot of competition for different positions, a lot of high quality and tempo."
"Sometimes I also go deeper to give my teammates more space. We work very well together," said the 31-year-old England captain.
Another reason Bayern did not want to underestimate PSG's point of view was traveling in domestic competitions.
With three money with Die Bayern, PSG is also very superior in Ligue 1 this season. They are unbeaten in 12 matches, 10 wins and two draws.
The problem is, both teams have not been maximal when competing in the Champions League. Both Bayerm Munich and PSG were both knocked out of the top competition in four matches that have been played.
No wonder, the duel will be fierce to prove which team can get out of the bad performances of the Champions League.
