Russian Court Orders Arrest Of French Reporter Entering Kursk

JAKARTA - A Russian court ordered the arrest of Catherine Norris Trent, a France24 reporter, on charges of illegally crossing into the western Kursk area.

Reported by Reuters on Tuesday, November 26, Trent entered the region with the Ukrainian military for response.

Russia handled criminal cases against a number of Western journalists covering Kursk, where Ukrainian troops broke through the border on August 6 and took control of parts of Russia.

The trial process is carried out in-absentia. With the order, journalists will be arrested if they set foot in Russia.
