Still China's CBU, Zeekr Hasn't Planned A Local Rakit

JAKARTA - The premium car brand from China, namely Zeekr, officially entered the Indonesian automotive market with two models at once, namely Zeekr X and MPV 009 which launched at the GJAW 2024 event.

The two models presented by Zeekr in the Indonesian market are still Completely Built Up (CBU) or are still imported entirely from their home country of China.

Given that many Chinese brands have assembled their local cars in Indonesia, then is Zeekr planning in the near future?

Responding to this, Lano Tungka, Marketing & Public Relations Head of PT Premium Auto Prima as the Zeekr Brand Holder Agent (APM), revealed that the discussion of local assembly was interesting.

"Currently, because it is still new in Indonesia, we focus on introducing brands first," he said, when met in the ICE BSD area, Tangerang, Tuesday, November 26.

He further said that currently Zeekr will try to introduce the brand to consumers, as well as explain its position in the Indonesian automotive market.

"We will also prepare good aftersales to consumers and can be reached more easily," he added.

As previously reported by VOI, there are two Zeekr models launched, namely Zeekr X, this one model will fill the premium SUV segment specifically designed to meet the demands of urban life and the dynamics of modern cities. In design, Zeekr X looks compact but still offers a large and luxurious interior.

Developed with the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, Zeekr X offers a remarkable combination of design, advanced technology, high performance, and safety guarantees, as well as an impressive distance of 440 km in WLTP count.

Meanwhile, there is a model 009 which is a top luxury vehicle designed to meet the needs of modern individuals. Powered by a dual motor drive system with a maximum power output of 450 kW (603 horse power) and a torque of 693 Nm, ZEEEKR 009 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour in just 4.5 seconds.
