One Victim Of Death Of Landslides Karo Found

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Karo Regency, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), said that the number of victims of landslides that occurred in Semangat Gunung Village, Merdeka District, had increased by one person, after Jihan Selviani was found who had previously been declared missing.

Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of BPBD Karo Panji Surianto said the victim was found on Monday (25/11) at 17.50 WIB after the joint team also found five other victims on the same day.

"The 10 people who were declared missing have been found. The last victim Jihan was found. All the victims died," said Panji Surianto as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 26.

Previously, the BPBD Karo together with related teams involved in the search process had found four victims on Sunday (24/11) or on the first day after the landslide disaster.

"In the second search process, the joint team found six victims. Jihan was the last victim found," he said.

Panji explained that the victims affected by the accident had been handed over to their families after the bodies were identified at the hospital.

The landslide that occurred on Saturday (23/24) night also damaged two houses, one inn, and one house of worship.

"The access road connecting Semangat Gunung Merdeka Village to Doulu Village was completely cut off. Farm and fishery land in Merdeka Village was also damaged, and others," he said.

The dead victims who have been found and identified are Efriyandi Surbakti (male-male 31 years old), Yusnizar (62 years old woman), Farhan Putra Nugraha (male 31 years old), Muhammad Subhan Anas (male 43 years old), and Healthy br Surbakti (female 65 years old), Elia Agustina ( 54 years old woman), Eliza Hilmawa Br Surbakti (female 4 years old), Ema Sari (female 27 years old), and Pia Br Surbakti (female 8 months), and Jihan Selviani (female 23 years old).
