300 Migrants Detained In Libya Desert While Trying To Achieve Menditerania Beach
JAKARTA - Libyan soldiers detained more than 300 migrants crossing the desert and tried to reach the Mediterranean coast.
Air photos released by the 444 brigade of troops operating under Libya's army based in the capital Tripoli show a group of men, women and children sitting on the ground, surrounded by soldiers.
Reported by Reuters on Monday, November 25, the migrants were stopped by desert patrols and will be referred to competent authorities.

Libya's conditions have been disturbed since a NATO-backed uprising against Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, and the country split in 2014 between western and eastern factions, with competing governments governing each other from Tripoli and Benghazi.
The country has become a major transit route for hundreds of thousands of migrants fleeing conflict and poverty in Africa, parts of the Middle East, and other regions, in hopes of crossing the Mediterranean into Europe.
