DENPASAR - Bali Police said there were 1,796 polling stations (TPS) in Bali that were of special concern because they were categorized as vulnerable in the simultaneous regional elections on November 27, 2024.
"There are 6,795 polling stations consisting of 14 polling stations with very vulnerable categories, 1,796 polling stations with vulnerable categories and 4,985 polling stations with less vulnerable categories," said Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya in Denpasar, Monday, November 25.
The Kapolda explained 14 polling stations that are included in the very vulnerable category, namely eight polling stations in the Denpasar Police area, three polling stations in Badung, two polling stations in the Jembrana area and one polling station in Gianyar.
"TPS is very vulnerable, of course, based on the historical considerations of previous election disturbances and geographical conditions that are difficult to reach, so it requires special attention in its security," said Daniel.
Given the complexity of vulnerabilities and dynamics of the 2024 Pilkada, 1,162 Bali Police personnel will carry out BKO security throughout Bali which is expected to be able to strengthen the Polresta and Polres ranks.
He explained that several vulnerabilities that arose during the Pilkada were money politics, intimidation from candidate pairs supporters to the public, vote inflations at polling stations, neutrality of election organizers at the KPPS level, use of ID cards or fake identities to vote.
