President Prabowo Approves The Transfer Of 'Bali Nine' Prisoners To Australia
JAKARTA - Minister of Law Supratman Andi Atgas said President Prabowo Subianto had in principle approved the transfer of prisoners (convicts) from Australia who were members of the "Bali Nine" group to their country of origin.
"For 'Bali Nine', I will repeat it once again. In principle, the President has agreed to the transfer process," said Minister of Law Supratman at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 25.
He said that even so, the transfer of prisoners should not be rushed because it involves mechanisms.
"That in general, we don't have the transfer mechanism yet. That's why the President emphasized to the Coordinating Minister for Law, to the Minister of Law, to conduct a study," he explained.
The Minister of Law and Human Rights revealed that currently the study process is just finalizing. His party will do it within December or early 2025.
"I can't confirm yet. But in principle the President agreed and we prepared it," he explained.
