DPR Asks TNI To Participate In Eradicating Online Gambling, Defense Minister: Soldiers Are Not On The Front Line Of The Eradication Of Judol

JAKARTA - Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin responded to the proposal of Commission I of the DPR asking the TNI to participate in eradicating online gambling and submitted it to President Prabowo Subianto. Sjafrie emphasized that the army was not at the forefront of eradicating judol.

Even so, Sjafrie ensured that the TNI fully supports the eradication of online gambling by law enforcement officials.

"I will straighten this out. That the TNI is a state defense tool. So the country's politics must also be understood by the TNI and of course also the TNI in carrying out its duties is also based on political decisions from the government. What is being continued, continued by the TNI in order to support the eradication of online gambling, it is not at the forefront, but support supports the law enforcement," said Sjafrie, Monday, November 25.

According to him, do not misunderstand if the TNI will appear in efforts to eradicate online gambling. The TNI, he said, only fully supports law enforcement related to this issue.

"So don't misinterpret the TNI as if it will appear to eradicate online gambling. But what is certain is that our morale supports the eradication of online gambling. That is what I convey and also carried out by the TNI commander," said Sjafrie.

Previously, a member of Commission I of the DPR from the PKS faction, Sukamta asked the Indonesian National Army (TNI) to participate in eradicating online gambling (judol) which is increasingly rife in the country. According to Sukamta, it is not difficult to eradicate judol if soldiers are deployed.

This was conveyed by Sukamta in a working meeting of Commission I of the DPR with the Minister of Defense, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and the TNI Commander, General Agus Subiyanto.

"Earlier, the Minister of Defense had said that threats, one of which was non-military, namely online gambling. Online gambling is an increasingly serious problem, if the PPATK says the turnover is 2023, the turnover is IDR 350 trillion. Yesterday, someone said that the turnover has reached IDR 900 trillion. Meanwhile, the TNI budget is only IDR 165 trillion, it has exceeded drugs. Some people say that international actors have infiltrated the apparatus," said Sukamta in the House of Representatives Commission I room>

Sukamta believes the TNI can overcome the problem of online gambling in Indonesia. He hopes that Defense Minister Sjafrie can talk to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto to assign the TNI to this judol eradication effort.

"I don't know the facts, but I'm sure that only the TNI can handle it. If the TNI is seriously deployed, it's not difficult to roll it around," said Sukamta.

"Well, I really hope that the Minister of Defense can lobby the president, hopefully the president will assign the TNI to complete this title," he added.

"But I hope that if it is assigned later, sir, the 20 percent of the turnover that was raided was given by the TNI for the welfare of members. It's pretty good if it's IDR 900 trillion, 20 percent, yes, it's IDR 180 trillion, more than the APBN budget," he concluded.
