Returning From Injury, Red Total Coach Admits Megawati Is The Team's Awakening Motorbike
Megawati is back in the Redmen squad after recovering from injury. In the latest match of the South Korean Volleyball (KOVO) against GS Caltex, Saturday, November 23, 2024, his presence successfully brought Redmen to a 3-2 win.
In the match which was held at Jangchung Arena, Seoul, Megawati became the team's winning motor after scoring 23 points. The match was tight with the final score 18-25, 26-24, 20-25, 26-24, and 15-9.
This victory is clearly a moment of revival for Redmen, who previously swallowed four consecutive defeats. No wonder the coach gave appreciation for Megawati's appearance.
"Mega belum sepenuhnya fit, tetapi kontribusinya sangat besar. Para pemain berhasil mengatasi krisis dengan baik, termasuk strategi penayangan GS Caltex yang sempat menyukung," ujar Ko Hee-jin seperti dikutip dari Chosun pada Senin, 25 November 2024.
Previously, it was known that Megawati was absent when Redmen lost to Pink Spiders. He had a thigh injury and had to pull over for recovery.
However, upon returning from injury, Megawati was able to perform optimally while giving the team new energy to rise.
With an additional 23 points in this match, Megawati now has 191 points, only nine points adrift of the previous 200 points.
From that record, Megawati is now in third place in the South Korean Volleyball's temporary top score list, behind Victoria Danchak (278 points) and Laetitia Moma Bassoko (223 points).
Not only that, Megawati's position even surpassed South Korean volleyball legend Kim Yeon-koung, who is now ninth with 155 points.
