Guardiola Doesn't Want To Worry About Predictions For The Premier League Title Title Competition

JAKARTA - Pep Guardiola had indeed hinted that if Liverpool beat Manchester City at Anfield next weekend, his team could be eliminated from the 2024/2025 Premier League title race.

The Spanish coach's remarks came after The Citizens lost to Tottenham Hotspur 0-4 on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

The minor result was Manchester City's fifth consecutive defeat in all competitions this season.

The match against Liverpool on December 1, 2024 will be critical to see how much Manchester City has used in hunting for the league title this season.

Currently, the Reds are at the top of the standings 12 points ahead of The Citizens in second place.

"Yes, that's true (expelled from the race for the Premier League title if it loses to Liverpool)," said Guardiola.

However, Guardiola was reluctant to worry about these calculations. According to him, the most important thing now is to look at the nearest match against Feyennoord in the Champions League.

Currently Manchester City is in 10th place in the standings with seven points from four matches. The position is clearly not safe to go straight to the knockout round which is only intended for the top eight teams.

Therefore, the victory over Feyenoord at the Etihad Stadium on November 27, 2024 will be a fixed price for Guardiola.

"We are not thinking about winning or losing (in the race for the league title). We are not in a situation to think about what will happen at the end of the season."

Not only that, The Citizens have conceded 14 goals in the range of defeat.

Defending player injuries cause continuous problems. Most recently, they lost John Stones who were forced out in the first half against Spurs.
