Cooperation With Menbud, Raffi Ahmad Supports Cinema Opening In 17 Regencies

JAKARTA - The Presidential Special Envoy for the Development of the Young Generation and Art Workers as well as celebrity Raffi Ahmad supports the plan of the Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon and SAM's Studio to open cinemas in 17 districts.

This plan is the result of a discussion between the Ministry of Culture and film people which was held on November 4.

"These 17 districts are multiplied by 3, so every place has 3 screens, so 51. So there are 51 screens that will soon be inaugurated on December 5. So December 5 will immediately operate, so it's not just about laying the first stone," said Fadli Zon at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 25.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Giring Ganesha said that this is a form of improving the quality of human resources (HR) such as directors, scriptwriters, and other professionals.

"We are also doing our best so that later there will be more directors, scriptwriters, and others so that Indonesian films' quality will also increase," said Giring.

Raffi Ahmad added that the opening of cinemas in this district will also involve MSMEs so that the wheels of the economy in the district can rotate.

"There, the ecosystem will not only be used to watch cinema films but also there, we can turn the wheels of the economy of friends from the regions because we SAM'S will be present in the districts. The food, MSMEs, we will prioritize everything," he said.
