TNI Commander: 169,369 Personnel Deployed To Secure The 2024 Pilkada Vote
TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto revealed that 169,369 TNI personnel from three dimensions were deployed to secure the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.
Through this pattern of deployment, according to him, the TNI not only acts as security guards, but also facilitators in supporting national stability in the context of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.
"This approach illustrates the TNI's commitment to maintaining the integrity of the country and supporting peaceful and controlled democracy," Agus said during a meeting with Commission I of the DPR as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 25.
The Commander explained that 169,369 personnel consisted of 139,339 Army (AD) personnel, 19,793 Navy personnel (AL), and 10,237 Air Force (AU) personnel.
The personnel from the Indonesian Army came from 15 Military Regional Commands (Kodam), including personnel from the Special Forces Command (Kopassus) and Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad).
Then personnel from the Indonesian Navy came from all the Main Bases of the Indonesian Navy (Lantamal), and the Navy Base (Lanal), Marine Corps. According to him, all Indonesian Navy personnel carried out regional patrols with the National Police Unit.
"Meanwhile, the Indonesian Air Force will alert 10,237 personnel from all Air Bases, both Type A, Type B, and Type C Air Bases," he said.
In addition to personnel, according to the Commander, the TNI has also prepared the Main Defense System Tool (Alutsista) to secure and assist the distribution of logistics for the 2024 Pilkada. The prepared defense equipment ranges from a number of planes, helicopters, ships, to a thousand trucks.
"Then the TNI will establish a regional post, carry out simulations, as a simulation step for handling social conflicts, and securing logistics escorts throughout the region, including the 3T area," he said.
