KPK Finds Out Projects Conditioned By Mbak Ita And Her Husband In Semarang City Government

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating a project conditioned by the Mayor of Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti or Mbak Ita and her husband who is also the Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD, Arwin Basri.

This step was taken by examining two witnesses on Friday, November 22. The two witnesses examined were Adi Jatmiko as a civil servant (PNS) at the Semarang City Environment Agency and the Head of Disdalduk KB Semarang City Lilik Faridah. The second examination was carried out at the Semarang City Police.

"The witnesses were all present and investigators dug up whether or not there was a request or termination of the project at other agencies by the mayor and her husband," KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika told reporters quoted on Monday, November 25.

As for the corruption case in the Semarang City Government, the KPK has named four suspects but has not yet been officially announced.

They are Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu or Mbak Ita who is the Mayor of Semarang, Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java DPRD who is also the husband of Mbak Ita, Alwin Basri; Chairman of the Association of Indonesian National Construction Implementers (Gapensi) Semarang City, Martono; and Rahmat Djangkar who is a private party. These four people have also been prevented from leaving the country for six months.

There are three alleged corruption crimes that allegedly occurred in the Semarang City Government. The details are the procurement of goods and services within the Semarang City Government in 2023-2024, the alleged extortion of civil servants related to incentives for collecting taxes and levies in the Semarang City area, as well as the alleged receipt of gratuities in 2023-2024.
