The Government Will Soon Realize Investment Commitment Worth 8.5 Billion US Dollars From British Companies

JAKARTA - Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Perkasa Roeslani revealed that he would immediately follow up on investment commitments from 10 British companies worth 8.5 billion US dollars.

Meanwhile, this commitment is one of the results obtained from President Prabowo Subianto's state visit to England on November 21, 2024.

In a press conference held after the CEO of the Roundtable Forum 2024, Rosan said that his party would immediately facilitate the interests that had been submitted, as well as oversee if there were obstacles faced in implementing in the field.

"We will continue the implementation quickly. Some of the obstacles that we have to solve, we are talking openly. At the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, he (the president) said are the spearhead towards Indonesia's growth of 8 percent," said Rosan in his statement, Sunday, November 24.

As an effort to immediately realize this commitment, Rosan admitted that he would meet several companies that had expressed their commitment to investing in Indonesia.

"Tomorrow I will continue meeting with 8 companies that met today, including BP and Swire," he said.

In addition, Rosan conveyed the reasons behind the enthusiasm of investors to invest in Indonesia because of the interest of investors cannot be separated from the stable national political conditions.

"They also appreciate the peaceful transition of government. This is what increases the trust of investors," said Rosan.

According to Rosan, President Prabowo also emphasized the government's focus on providing affordable housing at an efficient cost, supported by transparent and conflict-free governance.

"So, how to build 3 million houses every year within the next 10 years. Of course, that is the opportunity for investors to invest," said Rosan.

In a previous press statement, President Prabowo emphasized that global trust in Indonesia continues to increase, as can be seen from the previous visits to Brazil, the United States, and China.

In addition, the government's commitment to clean and efficient governance is also one of the main attractions for investors.

"I think this is quite good in showing global trust in the Indonesian economy. Of course, the clean government really appreciates our faith," said Prabowo.

Some of the things discussed in the CEO of the Roundtable Forum 2024 include government infrastructure priority projects, especially those that support the energy security and food security sector, the carbon emission reduction energy transition initiative program in Indonesia, as well as the expansion of access and quality of affordable health services.
