Bandung Regency Flood: 12,250 Affected Families, 2 Meters Of Capai Water Level

BANDUNG The floods that hit Bandung Regency from Wednesday, November 20 to Sunday, November 24 morning have submerged 2,014 houses and affected 12,250 families. The four worst affected sub-districts were Bojongsoang, Baleendah, Dayeuhkolot, and Cilampeni.

Head of the Bandung Regency BPBD Emergency and Logistics Division, Beny Sonjaya, revealed that his party had set up evacuation tents to help affected residents. One of the evacuation locations is in the Bojongsoang Water Park area, which accommodates residents from Dayeuhkolot and its surroundings.

"We set up refugee tents to ensure the affected residents have a safe place, especially those in areas with high inundation," said Beny in Bandung, Sunday, November 24, as reported by ANTARA.

Beny explained that flooding continues to spread due to high rainfall over the last few days. In Dayeuhkolot District, the water level has even reached 2 meters, forcing many residents to evacuate.

In addition to providing refugee tents, BPBD also distributed aid in the form of basic necessities, rice, tarpaulins, and cleaning equipment. However, logistics stocks are running low.

"Logistics from BPBD are running low, so we continue to seek additional support from various parties to meet the needs of the refugees," added Beny.

Floods in Bandung Regency were triggered by high rain intensity, which caused the Citarum River to overflow. The overflow of water then inundated the four sub-districts, affected thousands of residents.

BPBD urges people in flood-prone areas to remain vigilant and evacuate immediately if conditions worsen. Support from various parties is expected to help affected residents during this recovery period.
