Election Supervisory Agency Finds Indications of State Civil Apparatus Involvement in Supporting One of the Candidate Pairs

BOGOR - Bawaslu has found indications of violations related to the 2024 Pilkada in Bogor. The institution reported a Bogor Regency Government ASN, West Java, who campaigned for one of the candidates in the local election.

"There was one recent (finding), namely regarding the neutrality of ASN, we have reported it to BKN," said Head of Bogor Regency Bawaslu Ridwan Arifin after the election supervision alert assembly at Tegar Beriman Field, Cibinong, quoting ANTARA, Sunday, November 24.

Following up on the findings, Bogor Regency Bawaslu has sent a recommendation letter to the Indonesian State Civil Service Agency (BKN) to impose sanctions on the ASN.

"For the one we recommended to BKN, one person because it is suspected that he participated in the campaign and so on, but for sanctions, that is the authority of BKN," he said.

Ridwan said that currently the campaign period has now entered a quiet period ahead of the voting and vote counting on November 27.

Bawaslu Bogor Regency is more intensive in conducting supervision when entering the quiet period and voting day by deploying Panwaslu in 40 sub-districts throughout Bogor Regency.

"Supervision patrols during the quiet period, then coordinating with the regional government, sub-districts, and villages along with the organizers below to carry out the control of apk (campaign props)," said Ridwan.
