BCA Syariah Pede Kredit Troubled Below 2 Percent By The End Of 2024
JAKARTA - PT Bank BCA Syariah is optimistic that the number of Non-performing Financing (NPF) or non-performing loans can be below 2 percent by the end of 2024.
"Alhamdulillah, we will continue, God willing, we can maintain the NPF until the end of the year (2024) with a good value. God willing, it will not reach 2 percent for the NPF," said BCA Syariah President Director Yuli Melati Suryaningrum quoting Antara.
Yuli said that the challenge of maintaining credit quality is quite large, along with the increase in NPF in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector and the consumer sector.
"Actually, we know the challenges are extraordinary, whether there has been an increase in the NPF, yes, in the SME (Small Medium Enterprise) sector and consumers have also increased. However, in us, thank God, it is very under control because we are still running the precautionary principle as well as possible," said Yuli.
In the MSME segment, he explained that this segment requires high resilience amid the volatility of the domestic or global economy.
"The challenge is that the MSME or SME segment is indeed endurance. It takes very high insurance conditions," said Yuli.
In addition, he continued another challenge, namely in line with the weakening purchasing power of the community, as well as a decrease in the number of middle class in the country.
"When purchasing power falls, the medium economy shifts downwards. Like that, for banks the challenge is indeed how to continue to choose, see carefully which ones have sustainability for their prospects," said Yuli.
In the first semester of 2024, PT Bank BCA Syariah recorded a net profit of IDR 89.4 billion or grew 20.9 percent year on year (yoy) compared to the same period the previous year.
The company's total assets grew 11.5 percent (yoy) to IDR 14.9 trillion, including supported by the distribution of financing which grew 21 percent (yoy) to IDR 9.5 trillion.
