Two Bird Thiefs Chirping Battered Tempted By Mobs, Police Fire Warning Shots

JAKARTA - Two kicau birds thieves were battered by mobs on Jalan Arabika, Pondok Kopi Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, Saturday, November 23, 2024.

Residents managed to arrest the perpetrators after committing the theft of the kicau birds. A number of residents who were upset by the actions of the perpetrators, immediately threw punches at the perpetrator's face and body repeatedly.

In fact, the tantrums of the masses became even more brutal after the location of the incident was increasingly visited by other residents.

One of the perpetrators was also stripped by residents for resisting when he was arrested.

The environmental management then reported the incident to the Duren Sawit Police.

After receiving the incident of the theft and beating of the perpetrators, members of the Duren Sawit Police Criminal Investigation Buser immediately headed to the scene.

In fact, the police were forced to fire warning shots into the air because the masses were increasingly beating the two perpetrators who were already covered in blood.

According to the victim, the owner of the bird, Abdul Aziz, the theft of the bird was discovered when he heard a noise from outside his house. Meanwhile, the victim put his bird cage in the yard.

"Initially I was dismantling a fan, when I wanted to close the door I heard a noisy motorbike. I peeked, there were suspicious perpetrators' movements. Finally I came out open the door," the victim told reporters, Saturday, November 23, 2024.

Seeing the victim's action, the perpetrator who was already holding the stolen bird then fled. The victim shouted at the perpetrator until other residents who heard joined in pursuing the perpetrator.

"The perpetrator was already holding a bird. The two perpetrators were chased and eventually hit someone and fell. Finally, the perpetrator was beaten by the masses," he said.

Luckily, the tantrums of the masses were suppressed after the police came to the location. Then the two perpetrators were taken to the Duren Sawit Police along with evidence and victims of theft.
