Police Arrest 17 Teenagers from Two Different Groups in West Jakarta, Sharp Weapons Confiscated
JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Metro Police's Precision Pioneer Patrol Team arrested 12 teenagers involved in a brawl at the Green Garden Complex, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, Saturday, November 23, 2024.
The arrest of the 12 teenagers involved in the brawl began with a report from the public who saw a convoy of vehicles from a group of teenagers carrying sharp weapons (sajam).
After receiving the report and location, the Precision Pioneer Patrol Team immediately went to the location reported by the public.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers from the Precision Pioneer Patrol Team found teenagers gathered together to brawl. Officers gave chase and managed to arrest the teenagers armed with sharp weapons.
Officers confiscated one sharp weapon, a sickle, for the brawl. After being successfully secured, the 12 teenagers were taken to the Kebon Jeruk Police for further investigation.
Then the West Jakarta Metro Police's Precision Pioneer Patrol Team again arrested another brawl group in the Kemanggisan area, Pulo Palmerah, West Jakarta.
From this location, the police arrested five teenagers involved in the brawl. In addition to arresting five teenagers, the police also confiscated three sharp weapons in the form of machetes. The teenagers were then taken to the Palmerah Police.
Head of Samapta Polres Metro Jakarta Barat, AKBP M. Hari Agung Julianto, said that the arrests were made following up on public reports of suspicious groups of teenagers.
"Collaboration between the community and the police is very important in creating a safe environment," said AKBP M. Hari Agung when confirmed, Saturday, November 23, 2024.
AKBP M. Hari Agung appealed to the public not to hesitate to report any potential criminal threats in the surrounding environment.
"Shared security is our collective responsibility. The patrol team is always ready," he said.
