Police Reveal Drug Cases Worth IDR 2.9 Billion In South Lampung

JAKARTA - The Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the South Lampung Police (Lamsel), Lampung Police revealed cases of drug trafficking worth IDR 2.9 billion out of 15 cases.

South Lampung Police Chief AKBP Yusriandi Yusrin said police personnel revealed the 15 narcotics cases counted during the period from 21 October to 20 November 2024.

"A total of 22 suspects have been arrested, consisting of 19 men and 3 women. The confiscated evidence includes 2.71 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 134.60 kilograms of marijuana, and 201 pills of ecstasy," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, November 23.

The police chief said the cross-provincial drug trafficking network involved sending narcotics from Sumatra Island to Java and Bali.

"This success saved around 339,450 people from the dangers of drugs and the total economic value of evidence reached Rp2,964 billion," he said.

According to him, the drug case was revealed by the Narcotics Unit at the Seaport Interdiction (SI) location at Bakauheni Port and the police in South Lampung.

"The majority of cases revealed occurred in the Seaport Interdiction area of Bakauheni Port, the main route of smuggling," he said.
