Police Hunt for Social Media Admin, Main Actor of Bonsi and Jagal Brawl, Police Chief: Perpetrator is Son of RT/RW Administrator

JAKARTA - East Jakarta Metro Police have identified a social media admin who is suspected of being one of the main actors in the brawl between residents of Kebon Singkong (Bonsi), Duren Sawit District and Cipinang Jagal, Pulogadung District.

"There is a perpetrator who we are currently pursuing, still hiding. He is an admin. It is known that his parents are actually also officials or administrators of RW or RT (neighborhood units) in the area," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Nicolas Ary Lilipaly, Saturday, November 23.

However, Senior Commissioner Nicolas was reluctant to reveal the identity of the perpetrator because the police are still pursuing him.

"We hope that all parties, especially parents, will open their hearts to prevent our children from taking part in this brawl. This brawl is very detrimental to themselves, the environment, the nation and the state," he said.

The identification of the main actor in the brawl was based on cyber patrols carried out by the East Jakarta Metro Police.

"So that's what we monitor from social media, they are the ones who are the instigators or admins of the brawl," he said.

Previously, hundreds of joint officers from the East Jakarta Metro Police, Brimob Polda Metro Jaya, TNI and Satpol PP conducted a sweep against the perpetrators of brawls in 4 sub-districts from Duren Sawit, Pulogadung and Jatinegara Districts on Friday, November 22, evening.

East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Senior Commissioner Nicolas Ary Lilipaly said the sweep against the perpetrators of the brawl was not only today.

Several days earlier, his party had also arrested a number of perpetrators who were suspected of being involved in the brawl.

"A total of 18 perpetrators were arrested from Cipinang Jagal and Kebon Singkong," said Senior Commissioner Nicolas at the location.
