Bawaslu Supervises The Great Regional Head Election Campaign From Money Politics To Fitnah To Other Paslons

Chairman of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) RI Rahmat Bagja asked the candidate pairs for regional heads to focus on conveying programs and vision and mission in the grand campaign.

"We hope that all regional head candidates will now reveal the program," Bagja said, quoting Antara.

Bawaslu will also monitor the potential for rules to occur that were violated during the implementation of the grand campaign, including money politics to slander for other pairs of candidates.

"Meanwhile, we will monitor whether money politics occurs during the grand campaign, whether there are things that violate regulations, legislation, slander, and others," he said.

Bagja ensured that his staff at the village, village, and polling stations (TPS) were ready to carry out supervision according to their respective duties.

In addition, he did not rule out the possibility of friction between supporters in the grand campaign. For this reason, coordination with the security forces is carried out to ensure the situation remains conducive.

"Not one candidate pair or two candidate pairs in the same place, one of which is the police friends who control it," Bagja explained.

He also emphasized the importance of a campaign that is free from slander and hoaxes. All forms of violations against campaign rules will be closely monitored.

"Please do it by all regional head candidates and ensure that there are no violations of campaign content, against banned campaign rules such as committing slander and others," he said.

Currently, Indonesia is preparing for the simultaneous regional elections which will take place on November 27, 2024.

Previously, at the end of September 2024, the Indonesian KPU announced that there were 1,553 pairs of regional head candidates and deputy regional heads participating in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections in 37 provinces, 415 districts, and 93 cities.
