Bengkulu Basarnas Searches For Missing Victims Hit By Landslides
JAKARTA - The Bengkulu National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) conducted a search for one person who had been lost by a landslide after returning home to fish at Simpang Karang Pulau, Ketahun District, North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province
"We received information that there were residents after fishing in Ketahun District, North Bengkulu Regency, currently the Rescue Team and the Bengkulu SAR Office crew team immediately moved to the location to look for victims," said Head of the Bengkulu SAR Office Muslikun Sodik quoting Antara.
He mentioned that the missing victims were Karsim (40), a resident of Lubuk Mindai Village, North Bengkulu Regency, saying goodbye to fishing at Simpang Karang Pulau, North Bengkulu Regency.
For the chronology of the incident, he said, it started when the victim on Friday (11/22/2024) was about to go home after fishing and being hit by landslides in the area around the fishing location.

Muslikun explained that during the search for residents who drowned in the Ketahun District area, Basarnas Bengkulu deployed a number of personnel and coordinated with members of the TNI, members of the police, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of North Bengkulu Regency, and the surrounding community to assist the search process.
Furthermore, in the process of searching for victims, personnel used a number of supporting tools, such as a navigational D-Max pal rescue car, communication pal, medical pal, palm mountaineering set, and drones to see from a height.
Previously, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Fatmawati Soekarno Bengkulu Station predicted that the rainy season that occurred in the area was estimated to be until February 2025.
