Bima Arya: Mitigation And Distribution Of 90 Percent Regional Head Election Logistics
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto said that technically the readiness for the 2024 Pilkada, starting from disaster mitigation to logistics distribution, had reached 90 percent ahead of voting day on November 27.
He said the Indonesian government is also trying to improve the quality of this year's regional elections, so that it is better than the implementation of the previous regional election momentum.
"It has been conveyed by the Deputy Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Wamenko Polkam) Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus earlier, the Government wants to improve the quality of this year's implementation," Bima said quoting Antara.
He further said that the Government hopes that political participation from the community can increase, due to a number of changes in implementation compared to before.
"We hope that political participation will increase because there is a simplification of the number of polling stations (TPS), of course there are consequences for the distance between voters, this must be done jointly to invite voters to vote," said the Mayor of Bogor for the 2019-2024 period.
Bima added that the Ministry of Home Affairs is also focused on assisting the General Election Commission (KPU) regarding suburban areas, as well as being prone to disasters, so that people in the area can still exercise their right to vote on voting day.
"We will visit East Flores to ensure that the refugees there can exercise their voting rights," he said.
The General Elections Commission (KPU) appealed to all parties to maintain the calm of the calm of the 2024 Pilkada, namely on November 24-26.
KPU chairman Mochammad Afifuddin when contacted by ANTARA from Jakarta, Friday, also appealed to the 2024 Pilkada participants regarding the removal of campaign props (APK).
"Later, the KPU will coordinate with Bawaslu (Election Supervisory Agency), and the campaign team, in this regard," said Afifuddin.
