As Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Suswono Uses His Voting Rights in West Java

JAKARTA - Candidate for Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta number 1, Suswono will exercise his right to vote in the West Java Pilkada, precisely in Bogor City with his family because he cannot exercise his right to vote in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

"As a citizen, exercising the right to vote is the obligation and responsibility of every individual. Although my voting location is outside Jakarta, my commitment to democracy, transparency and a better future for Jakarta remains steadfast. This is a form of my contribution as a citizen who obeys the rules," he said, quoting Antara.

Suswono explained that after he exercised his right to vote, he would immediately join the winning team to monitor the quick count results for the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

The Minister of Agriculture for the 2009-2014 period also explained that this decision fully refers to the provisions of the General Election Commission (KPU) which does not require a regional head candidate to exercise his right to vote in the area where he is running.

"The main focus of the RIDO (Ridwan Kamil - Suswono) campaign is to listen to the aspirations of the people of Jakarta and realize programs that are relevant and have a real impact on its citizens," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the campaign period, Suswono is optimistic that their struggle during the campaign period will produce results that will lead Jakarta towards positive change — New Jakarta: Advanced City, Happy Citizens.

"In the remaining campaign period, we maximize our efforts. We hear directly the aspirations of the residents and receive very touching prayers and support. This is a mandate that we will fight for until the end," said Suswono.

The 2024 Jakarta Pilkada voting will take place on November 27, 2024. The DKI Jakarta KPU has determined three pairs of candidates (paslon) for governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta to advance in the DKI Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada) on Sunday (22/9).

The three candidate pairs are Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO) and Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana (Dharma-Kun) from independents as well as Pramono Anung-Rano Karno (Pram-Doel).
