TAM Brings Crown HEV To GJAW 2024, Suitable For Tajirs

PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) made a breakthrough at the 2024 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) by presenting the Crown HEV luxury sedan.

President Director of PT TAM, Hiroyuki Ueda, said that the presence of the premium car was in order to study Indonesia's wider hybrid market so that it could attract various segments.

"To learn more about the hybrid segment for the Indonesian market, we present the Crown HEV at GJAW 2024," Ueda said in his presentation to the media at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Friday, November 22.

The front of the car features elements of luxury with the front having a multi-fare horizontal goal with a nose that resembles a hammer shark as well as a premium impression but still sporty.

Then, the Crown HEV is equipped with a touch of long LED lights following model design languages such as Prius HEV, the latest Camry, and the Toyota bZ4X electric car.

With a four-door sedan fastback style, Toyota Crown HEV has a fairly wide dimension with a length of 4,930 mm, a width of 1,840 mm, a height of 1,540 mm, and a wheelbase of up to 2,850 mm.

Built on the TNGA-K platform designed for premium vehicles, the car has a 2.5 liter A25A-FXS 4-cylinder engine combined with a hybrid system, so it can gain a combined power of up to 236 dk.

Its engine performance is paired with an eCVT transmission system and an advanced E-Four propulsion system designed for hybrid vehicles from Toyota.

This car is assembled at a Toyota factory in Japan, to be precise the Motomachi Plant and Tsutsumi Plant factories. Meanwhile, the estimated price in Japan specifically for the SPORT Z variant is 5.9 million yen equivalent to Rp600.8 million.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer is still unable to confirm when the Crown HEV will be sold in the country and the price range will definitely be higher. Obviously, the Crown HEV can be an attractive option for tajir customers in choosing electrified vehicles with elegant designs.
