Government Sets Pilkada November 27, 2024 National Holidays

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto set the day for the simultaneous regional head election (Pilkada), Wednesday, November 27, 2024, as a national holiday, to provide the widest opportunity for the public to exercise their right to vote.

This is stated in Presidential Decree Number 33 concerning Voting Day for the Election of Governors and Deputy Governors, Regents and Deputy Regents, as well as Mayors and Deputy Mayors of 2024 as National Holidays.

In a copy of the Presidential Decree reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 22, the determination of the voting day for the regional elections is a national holiday, in accordance with the provisions of Law Number 6 of 2020 concerning the Election of Governors, Regents and Mayors, which states that the voting will be held on holidays or holidays.

The General Elections Commission itself has set Wednesday, November 27, 2024, as the day of the 2024 Pilkada vote.

Therefore, Wednesday 27 November 2024 is designated as a national holiday in the context of selecting governors and deputy governors, regents and deputy regents as well as mayors and deputy mayors.

This Presidential Decree is set in Jakarta, November 21, 2024 and is valid on a date set.
