KPK Reveals Internal Issues That Must Be Cleared By Leaders For The 2024-2029 Period
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that there are a number of internal issues that must be resolved by the leadership for the period 2024-2029. One of them is resolving a number of corruption cases that are still hanging.
This was conveyed by the Acting Director of Coordination and Supervision (Korsup) of the KPK Region II Imam Turmudhi. This issue must be resolved to increase public trust.
"The first challenge is to settle arrears in cases. Especially those with large state losses, regarding the lives of many people, and the public's attention," said Imam at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, November 22.
A number of these cases, continued Imam, are in sectors that are the focus of the KPK. Among them, politics, law, public services, natural resources, and the business sector.
The second issue that must be considered is increasing the aggressiveness of handling corruption cases. Imam said the move was important so that the KPK immediately provided legal certainty to the alleged perpetrators of corruption.
"At the same time answering public expectations," he said.
The KPK also needs to prepare priority case handling and avoid conflicts of interest. Asset recovery or asset recovery that creates a deterrent effect for perpetrators of corruption needs to be a concern.
