Win the BAFTA Award 2021, Youn Yuh Jung's Speech Spotlighted

JAKARTA - The largest film and television award in Great Britain, the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) has just been held on April 11 local time.

Actress Youn Yuh Jung received the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in the film Minari. She became the first Korean actress to win this prestigious award.

Virtually, the 73-year-old actress delivered her speech. On that occasion, Youn Yuh Jung also offered her condolences for leaving Prince Philip.

"Every award is meaningful but for this one, it's very special because it's recognized by the British people, who are known as high-hearted people, and they recognize me as a good actor, so I feel special and happy".

Her speech left readers of the nomination and other nominees laughing. But Youn Yuh Jung continued her speech.

"Thank you, thank you very much. Thank you to the supporters who voted for me. Thank you very much, BAFTA", she concluded the speech.

Youn Yuh Jung's speech calling Britons very high-hearted or snobbish gained great attention on the internet. Some professed to agree and praised the veteran actress's unique speech.

Her role in Minari earned her the best-supporting actress award at several awards, including the 2021 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
