Due To Drug Addiction, Kipli Nekat Curi Motor To Buy Methamphetamine In Tangerang
TANGERANG - Police arrested a man with the initials M alias Kipli who was suspected of stealing a motorcycle belonging to DM at the Airport Ambassador Housing, Jatimulya Village, Kosambi District, Tangerang Regency, last Friday, November 15.
Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho said that apart from arresting the perpetrators of the theft, his party also secured a collector with the initials MR (28).
"It is true that thieves and collectors have been arrested. The perpetrators of the theft stole their motorbikes to buy methamphetamine for Rp. 1 million," said Zain, Thursday, November 21.
"The motive was to steal and pawn the victim's motorbike because he was addicted to methamphetamine," he continued
Zain explained that the incident began when Kipli became acquainted with a man with the initials DM. Then Kipli then entered the victim's rented house, without any suspicion.

"At that time (the victim) was fast asleep. Then the perpetrator took the motorcycle key from the victim's bag," he said.
Furthermore, after successfully taking away the victim's motorbike, Kipli pawned the victim's vehicle along with the STNK to MR in the amount of Rp. 1 million. The money was used to buy crystal methamphetamine.
"The temporary confession of the perpetrator admitted that he had committed his actions three times with a similar mode. He did it twice in the Kosambi area and the Cengkareng area once," he said.
To account for his actions, Kipli and MR (confessors) along with evidence were secured to the Teluknaga Police for further investigation.
"Perpetrators of theft are subject to Article 362 of the Criminal Code, with the threat of a sentence of 7 years in prison. Meanwhile, the perpetrators are subject to Article 480 of the Criminal Code concerning malicious or pastah assistance, the threat of imprisonment is a maximum of 5 years," he concluded.
