China Masters 2024: Chico Failed To Remove Bad Record

JAKARTA Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo failed to erase his poor record of never winning against Shi Yuqi when they met in the second round of the 2024 China Masters.

The badminton player from Papua again lost 18-21 and 10-21 so that he failed to advance to the quarter-finals of the tournament on Thursday, November 21, 2024, afternoon WIB.

"Shi Yuqi played very well today. He from the first game to the end can control the game," Chico said after the match as received in the statement.

This is the fourth competitive clash between Chico and the Chinese men's singles. In the previous three meetings, Chico was also recorded as always losing.

The three meetings in a row took place in the first round of the India Open 2023 and the semifinals of the French Open and the last 16 of the All England this year.

"He is a complete player. He can play attacking, defending, or defend and then attack back equally well. I can't be old enough to serve him earlier," Chico said.

In addition to a bad record against Shi Yuqi, this defeat has also further extended Chico's dark record since becoming a semifinalist at the French Open in March 2024.

Since then, the 26-year-old badminton player has had 11 tournaments without being able to get through the second half. In detail, five times he lost in the first half and six times home in the second half.
