Achieve The Life Service Award For Film, Imam Tantowi: Like Waking Up From A Dream
JAKARTA - The 2024 Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) continues its tradition by giving the Life Service Award for Film. This year, Ario Bayu as General Chair presented it to the director and screenwriter of Indonesia, Imam Tantowi. Responding to this, Imam Tantowi admitted that he received this award as if he had been built from a dream after decades of not entering the world of Indonesian cinema. "I feel like waking up from a dream after decades is no longer in the film. Turning to television since the first film came down," said Imam Tantowi at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Wednesday, November 20.
Imam thanked the committee for giving the award which he said might be his last award for life.
"Thank you to the committee for giving such an extraordinary award. This may be the last award in my life," said Imam Tantowi.
He continued that he never thought that there were still those who respected him as someone who had contributed to Indonesian cinema. "Initially on television there were several times of directing. This is really extraordinary, surprise once. It turns out that there are still those who appreciate it," he said.
