Saudi Arabia Loses Points In SUGBK, Herve Badminton Praises The Indonesian National Team
JAKARTA - The coach of the Saudi Arabian national team, Herve totaled his team's defeat to the Indonesian national team at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta. After the match, he even praised the Garuda Squad for winning the match.
Saudi Arabia visited the headquarters of the Indonesian national team in the sixth matchday of the 2026 World Cup Qualification Third Round. In the match which took place on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, that night WIB, The Green Falcons lost 0-2 to the Garuda Squad.
The Indonesian national team managed to pick the first three points through a brace created by Marselino Ferdinand (32' and 57'). This result brought the Garuda Squad up to third in Group C.
Seeing how the host played in front of 55 thousand spectators, Herve happened not to hesitate to congratulate and praise Shin Tae-yong's foster children.
"Congratulations on Indonesia's victory. They deserved to win. They started the game with good intensity."

"However, we started the match like a friendly match. So, we lost tonight because of that, a different approach," said Herve happened after the match.
"Now, I accept this challenge, training Saudi Arabia again in conditions like this. Hopefully in the future we will achieve good results," said Herve aired again.
Despite losing to the Indonesian national team at SUGBK, Hervemen still believe Saudi Arabia can qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
"In this group, it's simple. Japan will certainly finish first, surpassing all teams. The rest will fight for second."
"There are four remaining matches. During the remaining four matches, we will fight as well as possible, including Indonesia which also has the opportunity to qualify (in second place)."
"For Saudi Arabia, this will be a challenge in itself to qualify directly for the 2026 World Cup. I am ready to accept it," said the French coach.
Hervewas only recruited as Saudi Arabia's coach in October 2024 after Roberto Mancini was sacked.
He is not a new name for The Green Falcons. My brother once led Saudi Arabia at the 2022 World Cup.
