Rp1 Million Assistance For 3.7 Million Jakarta Residents From The Government

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) have agreed to provide social assistance in the form of cash worth Rp1 million for each family per month during the emergency response period for the COVID-19 virus.

The results of this limited meeting were reported by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan in a coordination meeting via video conference to the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin.

"We hope that the aid program that was discussed together in the Ratas can be executed immediately. They are seriously affected and need support to be able to finance their lives in Jakarta," said Anies, Thursday, April 2.

In Jakarta, there are 3.7 million households who will receive social assistance. In detail, as many as 1.1 million are poor people, and 2.6 million people are vulnerable to poverty.

The poor groups, said Anies, receive social assistance every month to support their lives. Their data has been completely identified.

Meanwhile, in relation to the increase in the number of beneficiaries who are vulnerable to the poor, they are daily workers who have so far not received social assistance. However, since the corona virus outbreak entered Indonesia, they have been threatened with not getting a source of livelihood.

"For example, motorcycle taxi drivers, meatball traders, street vendors. They have had income so far, but now the economy is experiencing contraction, which has resulted in a loss of income," said Anies.

As for the data collection for the vulnerable to poor, it is still ongoing. This is because so far the government does not have their population data because they have never received assistance before.

Moreover, not all of them have DKI KTPs. They are outsiders who are looking for income in Jakarta and cannot return to their hometowns because there is an appeal not to go home from the government.

"At this time, we have to start from the beginning. Even though the data capital is from the dense RT-RW area, then data collection with the PKK will list families in Jakarta. In a short time, in about 10 days we can get the data to start. execution, "explained Anies.

The central government has poured out a budget of IDR 4.57 trillion for this assistance. The money was distributed to 2.6 million vulnerable poor people during April and May. Meanwhile, assistance to 1.1 million poor people is borne by the DKI Provincial Government.
