Supporters Of The Indonesian National Team Have Enlivened SUGBK 5 Hours Before The Match

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will resume their struggle in the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification against Saudi Arabia. Even though it was held at night, the enthusiasm of the audience has been seen since noon.

The match between the Indonesian vs Saudi Arabia national team took place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 19.00 WIB.

However, since noon, supporters seem to have started arriving at the location of the match.

From Voi.id's observation in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, a group of supporters has been seen wearing the attributes of the Indonesian national team. They apparently came first to avoid congestion on the main road.

This is as revealed by Kurniawan, an Indonesian national team supporter who came from Tangerang. He admitted that he came faster to avoid traffic jams.

Coming using public transportation, Kurniawan admitted that his efforts came faster and was similar to other supporters.

"I left for the train so I wouldn't get hit by traffic jams, but on the train there were also a lot of people who wanted to come here (SUGBK) too," said Kurniawan.

Furthermore, Kurniawan said he was still enthusiastic about supporting the Indonesian national team even though in the previous match Shin Tae-yong's team lost 0-4 to Japan. This result did not dampen his love for the Red and White Team.

"The losses are always supported. Yesterday's results, yes, don't regret it. Now we support it again because Garuda is in the chest," he said.

In addition to the enthusiasm of the audience who has started crowding the SUGBK area since noon, crowds of hawkers are also seen in the same location.

Although the weather is not too sunny, the traders, who mostly sell the national team jersey, continue to sell their products.

Despite the situation around SUGBK, the Indonesian national team still has to appear with full focus because there are still five matches left, including facing Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, Australia, and Bahrain.

Currently, the Indonesian national team is caretaker of Group C with three points from five matches. Now, Indonesia needs 15 points to advance the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
