The Latest Mini Cooper Convertible Officially Launches At The British Factory, Coming Soon For Consumers
JAKARTA - The automotive brand from England, Mini has officially removed the latest Mini Cooper Convertible from production at the Oxford plant, England.
This is the first time the Cooper Convertible series has come out of the production phase at the factory since 2015. The model joins other product ranks such as Cooper 3-door and 5-door.
"We are very happy with the start of the production of MINI Convertible, which is now re-produced at the Oxford factory, home from Mini," said Head of Mini, Stefan Richmann on the brand's official website, Tuesday, November 19.
Mini Cooper Convertible will be produced at three manufacturing sites belonging to the BMW Group, namely the Swindon factory to produce body press and sub-rakitan, then the Hams Hall plant in NorthTALshire for engine construction, and finally Oxford for production of body shells, painting, and final assembly.
The car carries a four-seater configuration with an open roof combining space-efficient proportions with driving pleasure.
In design, this model has similarities to other versions of Cooper. The front light looks wider with two horizontal lines at the top and under the lights.
Also on the back changed, Mini pinned the latest back light which was smaller and formed a triangle. This is clearly different when compared to its predecessor who used a large oval light.
Mini Cooper Convertible has rims measuring 16 inches to 18 inches depending on the specifications of each market.
The model can fold the roof automatically within 18 seconds with the car traveling at a speed of 30 km/h. Because the roof is made of light material, the Convertible version weighs 40 kg lighter than the standard version.
Mini Cooper Convertible comes in pure gasoline (ICE) with two choices of powertrain. For the Cooper C Convertible version, it has a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine measuring 161 dk and a 250 Nm torque.
As for the S Convertible variant, this car has the same engine with a larger power of up to 201 dk and 300 Nm torque.
