The Ministry Of Public Works Focuses On Building Infrastructure That Supports Prabowo's Astacita Program Next Year

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo said that a number of programs that will be carried out in 2025 are to realize President Prabowo Subianto's Astacita vision and mission. Especially to realize food, water and energy security.

"Currently, the Ministry of Public Works will maximize the use of existing infrastructure. So, we will revitalize what we already have to optimize and optimize to be able to succeed President Prabowo's Astacita, especially in the field of food, water and energy security," said Dody in a written statement, Tuesday, November 19.

Dody added, in realizing this self-sufficiency, water plays a very important role and becomes a super strategic commodity for the Government of Indonesia.

So that the largest budget allocation is also focused on food security through water resource infrastructure, namely in the form of construction and rehabilitation of irrigation networks, optimization of dams and dams.

"Water is one of the main issues at the Ministry of Public Works. We have coordinated with several related institutions. For example, the Ministry of Public Works has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Agriculture to form a joint Task Force to realize food self-sufficiency," said Dody.

"The Ministry of Public Works will prepare irrigation water, either through the dam that has been built and the irrigation network has been revitalized. Later, the Ministry of Agriculture will prepare production facilities," he added.

In addition, in realizing food, water, and energy security, Dody said there was a need for support from all stakeholders, including local governments.

So that its utilization can be more optimal for the community.

"After discussing with several related stakeholders, there needs to be an Inpres in the irrigation sector and drinking water. So that then there is an obligation to make irrigation canals and house connections so that the benefits are more optimal for the community," he said.

In the field of connectivity, the Ministry of Public Works is also preparing the implementation of the Regional Road Inpres (IJD) which has increased the absorption of regional roads, thus facilitating community connectivity. With the hope, the local government will also improve the condition of the local road availability.

Meanwhile, waste and sanitation also need support from local governments related to infrastructure management that has been built.

"In the future, we hope that there will be adjustments to the budget allocation in the regions to manage the infrastructure that has been built. So, the benefits can be more optimal for the community," he concluded.
