White Shirts, Police Chief: Friendship With Ulama Never Break Up

JAKARTA - Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo inaugurated the new building of Pondok Pesantren (Ponpes) Salafiyah Tajul Falah, Banten.

Chief of Police Listyo Sigit asserted, since he served as The Chief of Police of Banten until the current Police Chief, silahturami rope with scholars and community leaders never broke up in the slightest.

"While serving as banten police chief and friendship never broke up. Although at this time my position is far away but the relationship with the scholars is maintained," Sigit said when inaugurating the new building Ponpes Tajul Falah quoted from the written statement of the Police Public Relations Division, Saturday, April 10.

Chief of Police Sigit said the role and touch of religious figures in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic today is indispensable. The goal is for people to join hands in breaking the corona virus chain.

"With this pandemic let's join hands together to overcome this pandemic, keep this sense of spite with others, even though our country consists of various diversity let's all brothers build this nation," said Sigit.

Not to forget, Chief of Police Listyo Sigit emphasized his visit to Banten as well as ensuring that his attention and love to all scholars and community leaders never went away.

"Today is actually a nostalgic meeting with my friends with alim ulama who have always been together. Although I have rarely met with my friends banten scholars but my love for banten scholars will never fade," said the former Kabareskrim Polri.

In the inauguration, Sigit was surrounded by white turbans by alim ulama. The police chief was also given the opportunity to sign the inscription as a symbol of the inauguration of the pesantren building.
