Police Confirm Suspected Terrorist FA Is Not Muhammadiyah But Jamaah Islamiyah of Yogyakarta
JAKARTA - The Police Chief confirmed that the FA suspected terrorists who were arrested by the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Counterterror team at Soekarno-Hatta Airport were not board members of PP Muhammadiyah. FA is a member of Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) Yogyakarta organization.
"We want to straighten out the news that the alleged terrorists of the FA are the administrator of PP Muhammadiyah is not true. Indeed, JI's strategy is to clash the government with existing religious organizations to be consonant", said National Police Public Relations Chief Irjen Argo Yuwono in his statement, Saturday, April 10.
According to Argo, as a result of the investigation, the FA is a member of the JI terrorist group that plays a vital role. He was known to be the one who did the doctrine of members of his group.
"The concerned is recruiting several people to enter the JI organization and do I'dad or military training and climb Mount Lawu which is one of the preparatory stages in the group's terrorism activities", said Argo.
For the record, the FA traveled to Turkey to establish communications and networks against Al Qaeda figures and were closely linked to their strategy of supporting the global terrorism movement.
Previously, Densus 88 team arrested fa at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten on Thursday, April 8 with his wife DM after returning from Turkey.
