Google.org Disburses IDR 316 Million To Academic Organizations To Accelerate Research
JAKARTA - In the AI for Science Forum organized by Google DeepMind and the Royal Society, Google.org announced funding of US$20 million (Rp316.2 billion) for academic organizations around the world.
This funding is intended to accelerate research using artificial intelligence (AI) technology in areas such as rare and neglected diseases, experimental biology, material science, and sustainability.
"We will work closely with internal leaders from the Google DeepMind team, Google Research, and other AI-focused teams, as well as external experts," Timely Johnson, VP and Global Head of Google.org said on Google's blog.
Google.org will also provide $2 million in Google Cloud Credits as well as pro bono technical support from Google experts to help recipient organizations make optimal use of AI technology.
This latest funding continues the commitment of Google.org which has invested more than 200 million US dollars (Rp 3.16 trillion) over the past five years for organizations that use AI in scientific research.
