Belitung Residents Stirred by Discovery of Woman's Body Concreted in House
PANGKAL PINANG - Residents were shocked by the discovery of a woman's body that had been poured into a concrete slab in Padang Hamlet, Padang Village, Manggar Regency, East Belitung, Bangka Belitung Province.
East Belitung Police Chief AKBP Indra Feri Dalimunthe said that the murder of Lilis Sumarni (46) which was allegedly carried out by her boyfriend, Nanang Suriadi (48) occurred last Saturday.
The victim's body was buried behind the house using cement and poured into the concrete slab by the perpetrator.
"The incident is suspected to have occurred on Saturday, November 9, 2024. This was discovered based on reports from the public to the police," said Indra, Monday, November 18.
Indra said that the information came from reports from the public and the police immediately went to the scene and found a mound of cement.
"After excavations were carried out, it turned out that a woman's body was poured into the mound in the name of Lilis, aged 46. Based on witness statements, Lilis was with NS in the house," he explained.
Indra continued, from the findings the police immediately evacuated the body and pursued Nanang Suriadi
"A search was conducted but NS was no longer in East Belitung and we conducted a search in several places so that we found a cellphone that was no longer active. Based on the results of the investigation, NS is suspected of fleeing to Bangka Island," he explained.
The suspect's motive for killing Lilis and burying the victim's body behind his house using cement was because he was burned by jealousy.
"It is suspected that the perpetrator was burned by jealousy because the victim contacted her ex-husband, so the woman's body was cast," concluded Indra.
