No Statement, Uncle Birin Absent from KPK Summons Today

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that former South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor or Uncle Birin did not attend investigators' summons today. He should have been questioned as a witness in an alleged bribery case within the South Kalimantan Provincial Government (Pemprov).

"The person concerned did not attend," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika to reporters in her statement, Monday, November 18.

Tessa said it was unclear why Uncle Birin did not attend investigators' summons. In fact, the summons had been sent.

"He did not provide a reason for his absence," she said.

Uncle Birin was initially one of the suspects in this case. However, the South Jakarta District Court (PN) accepted the pretrial motion filed on Tuesday, November 12.
