Komdigi And KPPPA Strengthen Digital Literacy Of Women And Indonesian Children

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs strengthens its collaboration with the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KPPPA), in increasing digital literacy for women and children in Indonesia.

According to the Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid, the most victims of fraud from digital financial transactions are women.

Therefore, according to him, the Ministry of Communication and Industry and the Ministry of PPPA need to increase the capacity of women and children in utilizing technology to be safer from all types of digital crimes.

The strategy that has been running is digital literacy. The Ministry of Communication and Industry together with the Ministry of PPPA will involve women to get digital literacy," Meutya said in a statement on Monday, November 18.

Not only that, Meutya also said that they would increase connectivity in rural areas so that women and children could be more empowered in accessing information and technology.

"Women, if they have access to information, I'm sure they will become empowered women. We will continue to do this and activate it in the future," said Meutya.

Meanwhile, PPPA Minister Arifah Fauzi also emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration in order to support the Red and White Joint Room in providing digital literacy to women and children.

"We will focus on preventing women and children from experiencing fraud. So there needs to be literacy on how to use social media wisely," said Arifah.

He also added, "We will maximize collaboration with all parties. So far, collaboration has existed and is basic in the village."
