In The Testing, The Latest Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Successfully Becomes The Most Electric Electric Electric Car

JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz has shared some detailed information about the next generation of CLA-Class which will be released in 2025. One of them is that it will be present in the EV variant (pure electric car) and mild-hybrid.

In addition, today, Mercedes-Benz is sharing further information about the latest EV CLA-Class variant which is claimed to be the most efficient electric vehicle in the world today.

As car inventors, Mercedes-Benz has always been a pioneer in an innovative driving system. We recently proved this with the record-breaking VISION EQXX technology program. With the upcoming MMA vehicles, we are now making this visionary technology available to our customers and increasingly approaching the idea of a one liter vehicle in the electric era. Our new hybrid drive with electric transmission also sets new standards in terms of efficiency, said Mercedes-Benz Group AG Chief Technology Officer Markus Sch Wayfer, in the manufacturer's media space, Monday, November 18.

With the claimed energy consumption of 5.2 miles (8.3 km) per kWh, CLA-Class means superior to Lucid Air as the most efficient electric car today. It is known that Lucid Air is the previous most efficient record holder with 5 miles (8.04 km) per kWh.

In its latest CLA-Class test, it also managed to cover a distance of 3717 kilometers within 24 hours.

"No electric car is traveling further than Mercedes-Benz CLA on its way," added the Mercedes-Benz release.

This achievement is the result of a flexible MMA (Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture) platform that can be used for electric and hybrid vehicles.

The MMA platform is said to be a major step for Mercedes-Benz in developing future electric vehicles. Apart from CLA-Class, this platform will also be used for two models of the crossover that will soon be launched. Mercedes-Benz has also made major investments in battery research and development. The goal is to reduce battery costs by up to 30 percent in future electric models.

Although not yet fully revealed, the CLA-Class design is expected to remain loyal to the concept introduced last year. The MMA platform uses a customizable skateboard-style modular architecture for various models.

Meanwhile, the CLA-Class hybrid model will be equipped with the latest FAME gasoline engine from Mercedes-Benz, combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission integrated with an electric motor. This 48-volt hybrid system allows the car to travel short distances with full electric power.
