The House of Representatives to Hold Fit and Proper Test for Leadership Candidates and Oversight Board, KPK Reminds of Importance of Figures with Integrity

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) wants Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) to choose a figure with integrity as the leader and supervisory board for its institution. They are also expected to have the will to eradicate corruption seriously.

This was conveyed by KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika in response to the fit and proper test for candidates for leaders and supervisory board which began today, Monday, November 18.

"I think what is needed is a leader who of course has integrity and is determined to lead this institution to eradicate corruption in the future," said Tessa as quoted on Monday, November 18.

The will to eradicate corruption, continued Tessa, is expected not only in carrying out prevention. "Including taking action as well," said the spokesperson with an investigator background.

In addition, Tessa also touched on the need for managerial skills. The leaders must be able to bring the anti-corruption commission in a better direction.

"So, the point is integrity and qualified managerial function, I think like that," said Tessa.

As previously reported, Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives Habiburokhman said the suitability and propriety or fit and proper test which began on Monday, November 18. 10 candidates for KPK leadership will take a sequence number in the morning.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon, 10 candidates for the supervisory board will take a sequence number.

"On Monday afternoon, the fit and proper test will be conducted for 10 capim first, then 10 cadewas," said Habiburokhman at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, November 15.

After that, the 10 Capim and Cadewas KPK will be given the opportunity to present their vision and mission until the last day of the fit and proper test on Thursday, November 21. They will be given 90 minutes to present their presentation.
