Meeting The Secretary General Of The United Nations, Prabowo Expresses Support For Peace Immediately In The Palestinian Crisis
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with the Secretary General (Secretary General) of the United Nations (UN) Ant firekeeperio Guterres, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Brazil, Sunday, November 17 local time.
During the meeting, President Prabowo expressed his appreciation for Guterres' dedication in supporting international peace and justice.
"We really appreciate, respect, and support your consistent attitude in upholding international peace, justice, and international law. This attitude really inspires us, because you are consistent in this," Prabowo said at the beginning of the meeting in his statement, quoted by the State Secretariat, Monday, November 18.
Presiden Prabowo juga menegaskan komitmen Indonesia dalam mendukung upaya PBB, termasuk dalam isu-isu seperti keamanan pangan, penyasan kemiskinan, pelanggaran hak asasi manusia, serta krisis di Palestina.
He stated Indonesia's readiness to contribute, including through the delivery of peacekeeping troops if needed.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary General Antulio Guterres, in his response, praised Indonesia's strategic role in international cooperation. Guterres considers Indonesia as a very important partner for the United Nations.
"We agree with Indonesia in relation to the important aspects we face in the world today," said Guterres.
Guterres also highlighted Indonesia's active contribution to ASEAN-PBB cooperation and its important role in responding to the situation in Myanmar and the Middle East region.
He expressed the readiness of the United Nations to continue to strengthen cooperation with Indonesia in realizing reforms of the UN Security Council and international financial institutions in order to achieve global justice.

Also accompanying President Prabowo in this meeting were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Djiwandono, and Indonesian Ambassador to Brazil Edi Yusup.
